Warri-Itakpe (WITS)

Services have been suspended on and off for track repairs and safety checks. Confirm current status before travelling.

Abuja-Kaduna (AKTS)

Operating on a reduced timetable, with maintenance on some days.

Lagos-Ibadan (LITS)

Multiple daily trips on weekdays; fewer at weekends.

What do the Nigerian train terms mean?

WITS
Warri-Itakpe Train Service, the 12-station corridor between Ujevwu (Warri) and Itakpe across Delta, Edo and Kogi.
AKTS
Abuja-Kaduna Train Service, linking Idu (Abuja), Kubwa and Rigasa (Kaduna).
LITS
Lagos-Ibadan Train Service, from Mobolaji Johnson Station via Abeokuta to Moniya, Ibadan.
Ujevwu
The Warri end of the Warri-Itakpe line. Warri and Ujevwu are the same terminal.
Standard gauge
Track with a width of 1,435 mm. All three NRC passenger corridors use standard gauge.
Regular class
The basic seating tier. Official pages call it Regular; the booking system calls it standard.
WIT1 and WIT2
The two Warri-Itakpe trains: WIT1 runs morning Ujevwu to Itakpe; WIT2 runs afternoon Itakpe to Ujevwu.
